1.4 Service Life

In general, all modular adapters are tested by the manufacturer for 3 million
load cycles. Depending on the patient's level of activity, this corresponds to
a service life of 3 to 5 years.

The 4R108 and 4R109 Adapters are mounted on the exterior of the socket or
frame using the single central screw provided. In most cases, simply moving
the adapter and plate to the new location will improve the overall alignment
and will not require compensatory alignment changes. The adapter allows
spherical sliding adjustments, i.e. in the frontal plane (abduction/adduction)
by ± 8 mm and in the sagittal plane (flexion/extension) by ± 6mm.
For definitive use, all attachments must be sealed with one drop of threadlock
