Introduction

The METTLER TOLEDO electrode versions InPro
are low-maintenance, temperature-compensated pH
combination electrodes containing polymer electrolyte
(Xerolyt
provides automatic compensation of the electrode slope
to ensure accurate readings.
The InPro 4550 VP electrodes are suitable for pH
measurements in:
– emulsions and suspensions
– sulfide-bearing media
– s olutions containing heavy metals (lead, mercury,
silver, etc.)
– p rocesses with rapid pressure fluctuations (within
the given range)
– heavily contaminated media.
The InPro 4550 VP electrodes are unsuitable for
sterilization / autoclaving procedures, for processes with
rapid temperature fluctuations or food and beverage
applications.
Please read through these operating instructions carefully
before commissioning, in order to ensure trouble-free
use. These general instructions must be readily available
to operators of the electrode at all times.
2 Safety instructions
The InPro 4550 VP electrodes are intended solely for the
purpose described in §1 above. The electrodes consist partly
of glass and should be handled carefully. If the electrode is
to be cleaned or calibrated using acid or alkaline solutions,
safety goggles and gloves should be worn. Local safety
regulations are applicable to the handling of the electrode.
We recommend that you only operate the electrode in
combination with original parts from METTLER TOLEDO.
Operation and maintenance should be carried out only by
trained personnel and staff who have read and understood
the operating instructions.
