STEP 1 Fill the jug with the required amount of preheated
water (6 to 8 cups - ref. 11862-109) or (3 to 4 cups - ref. 11863-
109) and place centrally over the gas burner. Make sure the
appliance is used on a stable, horizontal surface.
STEP 2 Secure the filter (6) to the funnel (7) by pulling the
filter chain through the glass tube and fasten the metal hook
onto the tube end. Place the funnel (7) in the jug (3). Make
sure it is fully sealed. Add the required amount of ground
coffee to the funnel. Place the lid (8) on top of the funnel.
STEP 3 Turn on the gas burner (around the knob) to release
gas (13) pre-filled in and light it.
STEP 4 The water will rise through the funnel. Ensure all the
grounds are completely saturated by giving it a gentle stir
with the stirring spoon included. Let it brew for 4 minutes.
Place the lid (8) on top of the funnel.
ATTENTION: When the water comes up to the funnel (7)
some water will be left in the jug (3).
STEP 5 Turn off the gas burner after 4 minutes; the brewed
coffee will flow back into the jug (3).
STEP 6 Remove funnel (7) and pull on the filter (6) chain to
release the hook from the glass tube. Place the funnel on the
funnel holder (11). Now enjoy your coffee. To keep coffee hot for
longer, the jug lid (4) should be kept in place with the heater
(gas burner (a) or beam heater (b)) operated on low power.
WARNING: Only fill the jug (3) with clear water. Do not add
any milk or other liquids in the jug.
When making a smaller quantity of coffee you will require
proportionally less ground coffee.
10
CAUTION: Only use the coffee filter (6) supplied with the
appliance. Never use paper filters.
After a few minutes, the water starts to flow through the tube
into the funnel (7) and then remains there for four minutes.
Note: Open the funnel lid (8) carefully at the beginning of the
brewing process. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed
during the brewing cycles.
Once the brewing process is complete, you must turn off the
gas burner or beam heater; this is not automatic.
It is possible to turn the beam heater on again to
keep the coffee hot for as long as you want.
After the cycle, the funnel (7) can be removed and
placed on the funnel holder (11).
Note: Clean the coffee filter (6) and funnel (7)
thoroughly after every use.

BEAM HEATER
before the beam heater reaches the desired temperature.
STEP 5 The water will rise through the upper funnel. Let the
ground coffee brew for around 4 minutes.
STEP 6 Then switch off the appliance (switch to "OFF", and
hear that it clicks). Gently lower the MOCCA vacuum coffee
maker from the beam heater.
