g) Never fill the tank with more than three quarters of its total capacity, in
compliance with the level (maximum) marked inside the tank (For ease there is a
marker plate for the maximum level inside the tank).
h) Ensure that the lid O-ring seal is not leaking air.
i) Operate the pump using both hands and one foot on the stirrup plate.
j) Pump until 55 psi (379.2 kPa) pressure is reached or up to the maximum
operational working range (green) indicated on the pressure gauge.
k) Each plunge (a full stroke of the piston rod), is equivalent to about 1 psi (one
pound force/ pol².).
l) The contents of the sprayer (insecticide) should be mixed well by shaking the
tank before starting the application or later whenever the machine is stopped for

more than 5 (five) minutes.
m) The application should be made in vertical sweeps with an approximate width
of 75cm, which must be overlapped by 5cm.
n) Maintain the tip of the lance 45cm from the wall. Continue spraying, moving to
the right, i.e., clockwise, until the end of the work surface.
Comments:
1. Variations in flow rate above or below 10% indicate that the spray tip should be
replaced.
2. When the pressure goes below 21 psi spraying is automatically stopped by the
CFV valve, indicating the need for re-pressurization of the tank in order to continue
the operation.
3. By using the CFV valve, the chemical application rate is reduced from 40 to 30
ml/m². Therefore the operator should carry out the application at a slower rate or

change the composition of the chemical mixture. For more information consult the
current version of the "Manual for Indoor Residual Spraying -
WHO/CDS/WHOPES/GCDPP".
4. In case of defects or problems in the CFV valve, the equipment may still be used,
but you must revert to the application rate and mixture formulation mentioned in
the "Manual for Indoor Residual Spraying - WHO/CDS/WHOPES/GCDPP" for the
condition without a CFV valve.
PROCEDURES FOLLOWING THE APPLICATION
a) Inform all residents to stay out of their houses until the spray has dried.
b) Inform the head of the house to sweep or clean the floor before allowing
children, adults or pets back inside the home.
c) Inform the party responsible for cleaning not to clean those surfaces that have
been sprayed.
d) After completing the job, depressurize the equipment and remove any residual
pesticide. For this procedure please refer to section 7 under Environmental
Recommendations.
Note: Prepare only enough pesticide for the intended application thus avoiding the
necessity for the disposal of any residual waste.
