15. Inform your supervisor immediately if you feel ill before, during or after
spraying.
16. DO NOT USE CHLORINE BASED PRODUCTS.
17. THE EQUIPMENT IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH THE
FOLLOWING FLUIDS:
!
Inflamable liquids;
!
Combustible fluids with temperatures superior or equal to 200°C;
!
Toxic fluids with a tolerance limit equal to or less than 20 parts per million (ppm);
!
Hydrogen;
!
Acetylene.
5. USE - EXAMPLES
Essential equipment used in the fight against endemic diseases, such as: yellow
fever, malaria, chagas disease, schistosomiasis, dengue, etc.
Very useful for other sanitation services, such as:
a) Disinfection of farm yards, stables, etc;
b) Acaricide application;
c) Disinfecting homes, offices, factories, etc.
It is possible to spray high target areas using the GUARANY 4748 TELESCOPIC
lance.
6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FILLING
Lift the hasp (D) on the lid (E) and turn it about 90° and when completely free
withdraw it from the tank (F).
Fill with liquid product previously prepared, without exceeding the level on the
indicator plate fixed to the inner wall of the tank, which indicates the maximum
recommended volume (approximately 5.7ℓ, 8.5ℓ or 11.4ℓ). Replace the lid (E) on
the tank and lock it.
PRESSURIZING
Turn off the cock (B) and check that the lever (C) for the safety valve is unlocked
(see figure below). Turn the the pump handle (A) slightly and move it up and down
until you feel a strong resistance: pressure of 414 kPa (60 psi), indicated at the
extremity of the red coloured sector of the pressure gauge (G) range.
OPERATION OF SAFETY VALVE:
Locked Valve
(open)
SPRAYING
Open the cock (B), maintaining the discharge in the upright position. Squeeze
trigger type lever (H) to release the spray. To activate the safety lock when not
spraying, pull the top of the locking button (I) back (toward the operator).
OPENING UP
Eliminate any remaining pressure by pulling up the lever (C) on the safety valve.
Remove the lid (E) as previously explained.
CONSERVATION
Empty the remaining liquid in the tank into a container. Wash the apparatus inside
and out with the same dilution of the chemical used, spraying for several seconds
into a container to clear the entire system through which the chemicals had passed
and store the equipment without closing the lid.
In order to ensure correct application and safe from any residual pesticide on the
interior surfaces of habitable places in which vectors of malaria and dengue are
present, the following steps should be taken:
PRECAUTIONS FOR RESIDENTS
a) Inform the owner regarding the application program and its purpose, giving
them time to prepare and vacate the house.
b) All people and pets should vacate the house before spraying commences.
c) Homes with sick people who can not be moved, should not be sprayed.
d) Remove domestic items such as food and water, cooking utensils and clothing.
Whatever can not be removed must be adequately covered.
