SHARpENING DRIll BITS
Your Sharpening Tool can sharpen most high
speed steel drill bits from 7/64" to 3/8"
diameter.
To sharpen a drill bit:
1. Install drill bit guide onto motor unit per
"Installing and Removing Guides".
2. Plug Sharpener in.
3. Remove drill bit holder from drill bit guide
and insert drill bit to be sharpened as shown
in figure 6.
4. Tighten holder lightly by turning knob
clockwise, drill bit should still be free to
move.
5. Place drill bit holder into alignment block of
drill bit guide.
6. To set drill bit angle, hold V block down
against drill bit holder while bit is pushed
upward and gently rotated (Fig. 7). Drill bit
will rotate and drop fully into V block for
proper alignment (Fig. 8).
7. To set drill bit depth, allow V block and drill
bit to slide upward together until tip of bit
reaches depth pin (Fig. 9).
8. Tighten drill bit holder fully by turning knob
clockwise (Fig 10). Remove drill bit holder
from alignment block. A properly aligned drill
bit will be square to the drill bit holder (Fig 8).
If incorrect, loosen holder and start over at
step 4.
9. Turn motor unit "ON" and insert drill bit
holder into sharpening block (Fig 11).
10. Gripping sharpening block and drill bit
holder, rotate the guide right to left to
sharpen the face of the drill bit. Continue
until sharpening sound stops (Fig 12).
11. Remove drill bit holder from guide, flip
180°, and reinsert into guide (Fig. 13).
Sharpen the opposite faces of drill bit by
rotating guide right to left until sharpening
sound stops.
12. Remove drill bit holder from guide.
13. Turn motor unit "OFF".
14. Remove drill bit from drill bit holder by
rotating knob counterclockwise.
