Mounting and Reequipping the Drill Head
After every adjustment, firmly retighten
screws and knobs or allow to latch se-
curely.
Assembly
Unscrew the clamping screw 8 on the flushing head
10 (for the GDB 1600 WE) or extractor head 15 (for the
GDB 1600 DE) until the securing pin 9 is completely
retracted into the housing.
Insert the flushing head 10 (for the GDB 1600 WE) or
extractor head 15 (for the GDB 1600 DE) to the stop
on the drill head holder 7. Position the drill head in the
desired position with the projections 6 and secure with
the clamping screw 8.
Flushing Head (GDB 1600 WE)
Close the water shut-off valve 20. Connect the water
supply line to the tap connection piece 21. The supply-
ing of water is possible from a mobile pressurised wa-
ter container (optional accessory) or stationary water
connection.

Dismounting
To remove the flushing head 10 or the extractor head
15, completely unscrew the clamping screw 8 and
loosen the clamp with light pressure on the clamping
screw 8.
Then pull the flushing head 10 or the extractor head 15
off of the drill head holder 7.

Retrofitting
The GDB 1600 WE can also be equipped with a ex-
tractor head 15.
The reequipping of the GDB 1600 DE for wet use is
not possible for safety reasons. A special coding on
the machine and drill head ensures that this cannot be
done.
Connected hoses, shut-off valve or other ac-
cessories should not hinder the drilling
process.
Inserting and Removing Tools
Use wet or dry core drilling bits only for the in-
tended application in each case.
Color Coding:
Bosch wet core drilling bits
Bosch dry core drilling bits
The core drilling bits are equipped with the SDS Sys-
tem:

Before inserting, clean SDS-DI tools and lightly grease
the insertion end.
Insert the dust-free tool in the tool holder 12, twist and
push in until it latches. The tool locks itself. Check the
locking by pulling on the tool.

To remove, pull the locking sleeve 11 to the rear (A),
and hold while removing the tool (B).
