3.2 Task and function

The Schlüter® LIPROTEC light profile technology is an LED system that enables a variety of
mainly indirect light effects. The system, which is installed into walls and ceilings, is used to
create decorative or accentuating indoor lighting effects.
The LIPROTEC system consists of the following components:
Support profiles with spreading discs

LED strip

Receiver

Remote control

Power pack

Connection accessories

The LED strip acts as a light source. The LIPROTEC system permits the combination of
various LED strips. It is therefore possible to create light in various colour temperatures and
colours.
The LED strip is supplied with power through the power pack. The receiver connected
between the power pack and LED strip controls the LEDs' light intensity and colour
depending on the type of components used.
A mobile device (smartphone or tablet) can be connected with the receiver via Bluetooth so
that the receiver can be programmed or controlled directly using the
Schlüter ® LED Color Control App.
Alternatively, previously defined settings can be retrieved using the remote control.
The power pack is connected to a protective contact socket (230 V, 50 Hz) with a mains plug
and supplies the other components with a safety extra low voltage of 24 V DC.
The LED strips are pre-assembled with a 3 m long connection cable. The lines are colour-
coded; the positive conductor is black. The components are designed for a voltage of
24 V DC.
The LED strips of the LT ES 11 to LT ES 61 type differ in terms of their dimensions and area
of use. The LED strips of the LT ES 11 and 31 type have the colour temperature 3400 Kelvin
(warm white). The LED strips of the LT ES 51 type have the colour temperature 3200 Kelvin
(warm white). The LED strips of the LT ES 21, 41 and 61 type have the colour temperature
4900 Kelvin (neutral white).
In the case of the LED strip of the LT ES 9 type, more than 16 million different hues can be
set, as well as white light with a colour temperature of 2500 Kelvin (warm white) to
6500 Kelvin (daylight white).
