When unit is turned ON, it is automatically set for the STICK welding, by pressing
the MODE push button you may select the TIG function.
TIG function offers the following functioning possibilities:
2 time
pulsed 2 time
4 time
pulsed 4 time
To select the desired function press MODE push button.
Note: 2/4 time pulsed mode is suitable for thin sheets of metal as heat on workpiece
is lower than in the standard mode.
Tig Welding Start (H.F. or Lift Arc): in TIG welding start can be with or without high
frequency (H.F.). When TIG welding is selected, unit automatically sets welding
with H.F. To remove high frequency, keep torch trigger pressed, power on the unit
(all leds on the front panel are lit); when all checks have been terminated (green
led (1) and red led (5) are lit) release torch trigger. Press MODE push button to
select TIG welding.
TIG welding without H.F. is suitable in all the cases when high frequency can
cause problems to devices in surrounding areas like hospitals, airports, etc...
In all these cases use Lift Arc Start.
7.0 STICK WELDING
The electric arc may be described as a source of bright light and strong heat; in
fact, the flow of electric current in the gas atmosphere which surrounds the
electrode and the workpiece determines the radiation of electromagnetic waves that
can be peceived as light and/or heat depending on their wave length. At an
unperceivable level, the arc also produces ultra-violet and infra-red light; ionizing
rays have never been noted. The heat produced by the arc is used in the welding
process to melt and join metal parts. The necessary electric current is supplied by
special equipment commonly called welding machine.
-
Connect the earth cable to the negative pole of the Inverter and the earth clamp
to the workpiece.
-
Connect the welding cable to the positive pole of the Inverter.
-
Select the welding current using the potentiometer on the front panel (8). The
welding current should be choosen following the instruction given by the electrodes
manufacturer on the electrode box, but the following indications may be useful as
general information:
red led (6) is lit
red led (6) blinks (BEWARE: the pulse starts after one
second the arc is on).
red led (7) is lit
