USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
TRAINING WITH THE BACK TRAINER
CAUTION! Take your time to get used to the device and pay attention to your
posture. You may suffer injuries if you misapply the training principles and exer-
cise instructions.
1. Warming up: Warm up before each training session. Walk or run in place;
stretches and light stretching exercises are perfectly suited for warm ups.
2. Breathing: Correct breathing plays an important role in training. Breath
quietly and constantly. Don't ever hold your breath when training.
3. Clothing and room: Put on comfortable sports clothes when you train and
make sure that you give yourself at least 1m of room to perform your exercises.
Always put on sports shoes; don't train with bare feet, sandals, socks, or sto-
ckings.
4. Training approach: Don't overdo it and always adjust your exercises and the
scope of your exercises to your level of performance. First begin with only a few
repetitions and then increase your level from week to week. Take at least one
day off between two training units. Always make sure to consult your doctor
before you being an exercise regimen.
5. Warming down: Never end the training abruptly. Reduce the intensity of your
training gradually before you leave the equipment. Finally, do some light stretch
exercises. That will allow your pulse to lower and your body will be able to rege-
nerate faster for the next time you strain your muscles because the metabolic
declines (lactates) can be decomposed easier if you engage in closing exercises.

SUGGESTED EXERCISES
1. Mobilisation of the spine
Take up a stable posture with the knees bent. Tilt the upper body forward and
thereby stretch the back using a hunchback posture; place the hands on the
thighs for support. (Fig. 2) Subsequently place yourself in a tackling position,
with the arms crossed in front of the chest. Rotate yourself with the upper body
as shown in fig. 3. The pelvis should thereby be kept straight.
2. Initial position
Place yourself carefully on the rear foot of the back trainer. Now bend forward
on the black padding and at the same time grab the supporting grips to support
you. While you are bending forward, lean both your shins on the foam cushion in
the foot area. Adjust the height of the cushion shortly under your hip. Make sure
you don't experience any resistance on your abdomen as you complete your
training unit. Now you can start with your exercises!
3. Back stretch
Lower your upper body toward the ground as shown in fig. 4. Subsequently
return to the starting position (the upper body and legs should form a straight
line). Complete this movement slowly and continuously. Make sure during this
exercise that your back is straight and that you are not overstretched. You can
use the position of your arms, to vary the degree of difficulty of the exercise
by (laterally at the side of the body, crossed over the chest, behind the head or
stretched, whereby in the case of the latter, the arms should be kept beside the
ears).
4. Back stretches / Lateral Abdominals
Lower your upper body toward the ground. Slightly turn as shown in fig. 5 your
upper body to your side as you move upward.
5. Lateral Abdominals
Position yourself laterally as shown in fig. 6. Lower your upper body slightly
toward the ground. Then return back to the initial position.
