4 Setting into Operation
4.1 Setting up the unit
The unit can be placed as desired or be mounted to a
PA speaker cabinet stand (e. g. PAST series of the
MONACOR product range) via the stand sleeve on the
lower side.
4.2 Power supply
The power supply can be made both via a mains
socket or via the integrated rechargeable battery.
1) First connect the supplied mains cable to the mains
connector (8) of the unit and then connect the
mains plug to a mains socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
2) The charging control CHARGE (6) lights up:
red = the rechargeable battery is charged
green = the charging procedure is terminated
During charging, the unit can be operated as usually.
However, the charging procedure is shortened if the
unit is switched off with the switch POWER (12).
3) After the end of the charging procedure it is possi-
ble to operate the unit via the rechargeable battery
independent of the mains. With maximum volume
an operating time of up to 8 hours is possible. With
a lower volume the operating time is prolonged.
4) The rechargeable battery should be recharged if
the indication LOW (6) lights up.
IMPORTANT!
When the rechargeable battery is fully charged (LED
CHARGE shows green) and the unit is not in opera-
tion, disconnect the mains plug from the socket;
otherwise the rechargeable battery may be damaged.

4.3 Connection of microphone, audio units,
and further TXA-500 units
1) If a cable-connected microphone is required addi-

2) For the connection of three audio units as a maxi-
mum with line output, e. g. CD player, tape recorder,
different jacks are provided:
– 6.3 mm jack LINE (1) if no microphone is con-
– phono jacks LINE (3)
– 3.5 mm jack LINE (4) if no wireless microphone

CAUTION
1) Prior to switching on, set all controls LEVEL (10) to
"0" to avoid switching-on noise.
2) Switch on the unit with the switch POWER (12). The
yellow indication POWER (7) lights up. The ampli-
fier part and the receiving part are in operation.
3) If a wireless microphone is used, switch it on. The
red indication MIC ON (5) lights up. If not, check the
battery of the microphone or reduce the distance
between unit and microphone. The range is approx.
30 m.
4) Switch on all connected units and mix their signals
with the corresponding controls LEVEL (10) or fade
them in and out as required. Always set to "0" the
controls of the channels which are not used.
5) Adjust the sound with the controls BASS and
TREBLE (11) separately for each channel in an
optimum way.
6) After the operation switch off the unit with the
POWER switch. When using a wireless micro-
phone, remember to switch it off as well otherwise
the batteries will be exhausted the next time the
microphone is used.

tional units to "0" because the volume and the
sound are only set via the main unit.
Never adjust a very high volume. Per-
manent high volumes may damage
your hearing! The human ear gets
accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high any more after
some time. Therefore, do not further
increase a high volume which has once
been adjusted after getting used to it.
