5. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Read all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric
shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
1.

Work area:

• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of fl ammable liquids,
gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Before use the equipment, ensure that the area being cut is free from strings, stones and debris. Remove any
objects that could be thrown during cutting or could wind around the cutting mechanism. Do not cross roads
or gravel paths with the machine still running, that could be thrown during cutting this could and cause injury
to the operator and damage to the machine.
• Keep children, animals and bystanders away while operating a power tool, at a safe distance (15m), in order
to avoid the risk of injury due to fl ying parts. Distractions can cause you to lose control and may result in
serious injury.
2.

Electrical safety:

• Before connecting the equipment to the electrical network, check if the tension of the product ma-
tches the local one. Power outlet must be compatible to the equipment's plug. To reduce the risk of shock,
do not change the plug's characteristics and do not use adapters. If required, replace the outlet with a
suitable plug model.
• Do not touch metal surfaces such as pipes, motors, gutters, fences, windows, doors, metal gates, etc, this
increases the risk of electric shock.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions and avoid cutting wet grass. Water entering a power
tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Never use the electric cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep electric cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. If
the electric cord becomes damaged during use, do not touch the electric cord, disconnect the cord from the
supply immediately.
• If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer or by an authorized
service center to avoid risk.
• For protection against electric shock, it is recommended to install a residual current circuit breaker, with a
tripping current of not more than 30mA is in the circuit. Consult an electrician to select and install this safety
device. Use only on AC mains supply voltage shown on the rating plate.
• If an extension cord is used make sure it is for outdoor use and marked as such. Completely uncoil your
extension cable before use to prevent over heating and loss of mower effi ciency. When tidying away the
cable, wind it carefully to avoid kinking. The recommended size of extension cord is not lighter than 2,5 mm²
and a maximum of 10 meters in length.
• Disconnect the plug from the power source after striking any foreign object, before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the power tool accidentally.
• To avoid accidental starting, ensure the switch is in the off-position before plugging in. Carrying power tools
with your fi nger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
3.

Personal safety:

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a po-
wer tool while you are tired or under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in serious personal injuryy.
• Always use suitable personal protective equipment (PPE), as each application, such as dust glasses
