1. Set the lower handlebar in place.
2. Fit the lower handle ensuring that the formed ends are
located properly in corresponding slots either side of
the lawnmower. (B )
3. Insert the plastic plugs on both sides.
4. Assemble the upper handle. Note: washer between
wing nut and handle. (D)

1. In the packaging you will nd 2 stops one marked
and one marked -V -.
2. To lock the handlebar in a xed position, attach the
stops as shown in the illustration
3. Place -H- on the right side and -V - on the left side.

1. Check oil level periodically and after every ve hours
of operation.
2. Add oil as necessary to keep the level to the FULL
mark on the dipstick.
3. Use a good quality SAE 30 four stroke oil.
4. To ll with oil:- (J )
a. Remove oil ller cap.
b. Fill to the FULL mark on the dipstick.
• Change the oil after the rst ve hours operation and
thereafter every 25 working hours.
5. Always change the oil while the engine is warm - but not
hot - never attempt any maintenance on a hot engine.
1. Place the mower on a at surface free from grit,
gravel, etc. Fill the tank with unleaded petrol,
mix with oil. (K )
2. Do not ll with petrol while the engine is running. Any
petrol spillage should be hosed away with water. Take
care that water does not enter the engine.
3. Connect the spark plug lead.
P R IME R
1. S tarting the cold engine
Push primer bulb rmly 3 times before starting cold engine.
(Also, if the engine has stopped because it has ran out of
fuel, refuel engine and push primer 3 times).(M)
2. S tarting the warm engine

R ecoil S tarter
1. Disconnect the spark plug lead.
Y ou mus t releas e the brake by pulling the O P C lever to
the handle before pulling out the cord.
2. Pull the Operator Presence Control to release the
brake on the engine. (F )
3. Extend the pull cord fully.
4. Locate the cord in the pull cord guide positioned on
handle (G ).
F illing with O il
1. Fill the engine with oil.

ADJ US T ING T HE C UT T ING HE IG HT
1. Remove the spark plug lead before adjusting.
2. Move the axles between the notches to achieve the
desired cutting height. (H1) & (H2)
P etrol
1. Use fresh regular grade lead free petrol.

Us ing leaded petrol will make the exhaus t s moke and
caus e irreparable damage to engines fitted with a
catalytic converter.
3. Do not ll the fuel tank when the engine is hot.
4. Do not ll the fuel tank while smoking.
5. Do not ll the fuel tank while the engine is running.
6. T o avoid introducing dirt into the fuel system, wipe all grass
and dirt from the petrol ller cap before unscrewing it.
7. It is recommended that you ll the tank through a
funnel with a lter.
8. Wipe away spillages before starting.

3. Pull the Operator Presence Control all the way to the
upper handle before you start the engine. The lever must
be held in position to keep the engine running. (N)

6. S topping the engine
Release the Operator Presence Control.
Mow the lawn twice weekly during the most active
periods of growth.
Never cut more than 1/3 of the length of the grass,
especially during dry periods.
Mow with a high cutting height setting the rst time.
Examine the result and lower the mower to the desired
setting. Mow slowly or mow the grass twice if it is very
long.

Always handle the blade with care - s harp edges could

R enew your metal blade after 50 hours mowing or 2
years whichever is the s ooner - regardles s of condition.
If the blade is cracked or damaged replace it with a new
one.
