▶ Collet Nut
To loosen the collet nut, first press shaft
lock button and rotate the shaft by hand
until the lock engages the shaft
preventing further rotation. Your Dremel
Lite 7760 is equipped with a shaft lock
mechanism. This mechanism engages
the output shaft in 4 separate locations
on the shaft for easier operation.
is running.
With the shaft lock 7 engaged, use the
EZ TWIST™ integrated wrench / nose cap
3 (or collet wrench 15) to loosen the
collet nut 1. The collet nut must be
loosely threaded on when inserting an
accessory.
Change accessories by inserting the new
one into the collet as far as possible to
minimize runout and unbalance. With
the shaft lock 7 engaged, tighten the
collet nut 1 securely with EZ TWIST™
integrated wrench/nose cap 3 or collet
wrench 15 (Fig. 2). Avoid excessive
tightening of the collet nut when there
is no bit inserted.

into a collet.
Note: Most rotary tool kits do not
include all four collets sizes.
▼ FIXING STUCK COLLETS
It is possible for a collet to get stuck
within the collet nut especially if a collet
nut is tightened onto the tool without a
bit in place. If this happens, the collet
can be removed from the collet nut by
pushing the shank of an accessory into
the hole in the collet nut. This should
cause the collet to pop out of the collet
nut.
