Safety precaution

Caution
Read these cautions before using the product.
To ensure safety, observe all warnings and cautions while using the product.
• Follow applicable laws regarding mobile phone and headphone use if using the
product while driving.
• Do not use the product in places where the inability to hear ambient sound
presents a serious risk (such as at railroad crossings, train stations, and
construction sites).
• To prevent damage to your hearing, do not raise the volume too high. Listening
to loud sound for an extended period may cause temporary or permanent
hearing loss.
• Discontinue use if skin irritation results from direct contact with the product.
• Stop using the product immediately if you become unwell during use.
• Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to repair the product.
• Be careful to avoid pinching yourself between the housing and arm of the
product.
• To ensure compatibility and correct usage, always consult the user manual of
any device before connecting the product to it.
• Audio-Technica will not be liable in any way for any loss of data in the unlikely
event that such losses should occur while using the product.
• On public transport systems or in other public places, keep the volume low so
as not to disturb other people.
• Minimize the volume on your audio device before connecting the product in
order to avoid hearing damage from sudden exposure to excessive volume.
• When using the product in a dry environment, you may feel a tingling
sensation in your ears. This is caused by static electricity accumulated on your
body, not by product malfunction.
• Do not subject the product to strong impact to avoid electric shock,
malfunction or fire.
• Do not handle the product with wet hands to avoid electric shock or
malfunction.
• Disconnect the product from the device if you encounter any malfunction like
noise, smoke, smell, heat or damage with the product. In such case, contact
your local Audio-Technica dealer.
• Do not put foreign matter such as combustible materials, metal, or liquid in
the product.
• Do not cover the product with a cloth while using.
• Do not store the product under direct sunlight, near heating devices or in a hot,
humid or dusty place. Do not allow the product to get wet.
• When the product is used for a long time, the product may become discolored
due to ultraviolet light (especially direct sunlight) or wear.
• The included cable may become caught or severed if the product is placed in
a bag or pocket without adequate protection. Always store the product in the
included pouch.
• Connect/disconnect the included cable by holding the plug.
Pulling directly on the cable can result in a broken wire and the risk of electric
shock.
• Do not wind the included cable around your audio device. This may damage or
sever the cable.
• The product cannot be used with some portable audio players or other devices
that are equipped with a digital amplifier.
• The included airplane adapter may not be compatible with certain types of
aircraft devices.
• Do not use the product when the use of electronic devices is prohibited on
the airplane, or when the use of personal headphones with the aircraft's audio
service is prohibited.
• Be sure to purchase the appropriate conversion plug adaptor when connecting
the product to a device equipped with something other than a 3.5 mm (1/8")
stereo headphone jack.
• An extension cable for the product is sold separately.
Caution for batteries
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Observe correct polarity as marked.
• Do not expose the battery to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
• Always consider the environment issues and follow local regulations when
disposing of batteries.
• Remove depleted battery immediately.
• Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
• Use only disposable LR03(AAA) alkaline batteries.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries.
• Do not use different batteries type or model.
• Do not use a leaking battery. If battery leakage occurs, avoid contact with skin.
If contact occurs, immediately wash thoroughly with soap and water.
• If battery leakage comes into contact with your eyes, immediately flush with
water and seek medical.

How to Install the battery
This product requires one AAA battery for operation. Use only disposable
AAA alkaline battery. Do not use rechargeable battery.
1 Move the power switch on the
product to the OFF position.
2 While the headphones are lying in
a flat position, use the lift tab at the
bottom of the right housing to open
the battery compartment.
3 Insert one AAA battery, observing
correct polarity as marked.
4 Close the battery compartment
cover.
