3. Assembly and first-time use
Note: Please choose an electrode holder which conforms with EN60974-11
Obtain a face shield carrying a quality control symbol and having protective glass that also carries
a quality control symbol, the protection level should be 9-10. (You should also obtain a slag
hammer (chipping hammer) and wire brush) Before assembly, ensure that the switch on the back
panel of the power source is set to off and that the power plug is not inserted into the power
socket.
First connect the earth cable with earth clamp to socket (4), labelled with -
Insert the coupling device into the - socket and then turn it to the right as far as it will go. Pull
the coupling device to ensure that it is properly engaged. Keep the coupling device free of oil or
other contamination.
Connect the welding cable with the electrode holder to socket (5), labelled with +.
Insert the coupling device into the + socket and then turn it to the right as far as it will go. Pull
the coupling device to ensure that it is properly engaged. Keep the coupling device free of oil or
other contamination.
Current selection switch
This switch allows you to switch the device on and off with an audible click, and also allows you
to adjust the welding current. The associated electrode diameters are also displayed on the
scale.
Carrying strap
Use the included carrying strap for easily and safely transporting the device. Feed the free end of
the carrying strap through the slots in the device and secure the free end in the loop at the other
end of the carrying strap.
