▪ Check that the safety devices are in perfect condition
and work properly. Never use the power tool if the safety
devices are missing, inhibited, damaged or worn out;
▪ Ensure that the "ON/OFF" switch is "OFF" positioned
when you connect the power cord. If the "ON/OFF" switch
is damaged or does not allow the operation of the tool to
be controlled, it must be repaired or replaced in order to
prevent any unintentional start.
Make all adjustments and work necessary for the correct
assembly of the power tool if you have any questions or
difficulties, contact your official dealer.
Keep third parties away from the power tool's area of
operation. Never work while animals or people,
especially children, are in the danger zone.
Keep the work area clean, organized and well lit (250 to 300
lux light), thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and
helmet properly reduces the risk of injury.
Clothing worn during the machine operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
The control and safety devices installed in the power tool
must not be removed or inhibited.
The following precautions and procedures should also be
followed to avoid accidents:
▪ The rated speed of the sanding belt must be at least
equal to the maximum speed stated in the technical
specifications of the belt sander;
▪ When using the belt sander, place yourself in a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the sander
firmly to ensure continuous operation and withstand
unexpected situations;
▪ To avoid workpieces/object displacement or projection
use a fixing device or a bench vice to ensure a safe
performance. Place/maintain the workpiece/object in a
correct and stable position;
▪ Never put down the equipment before the rotary
accessory is completely stopped. The rotary accessory
may touch the surface, making you lose the control of
the belt sander;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not blocked while
operating the sander. Do not place any objects over the
slots;
▪ Make sure that you don't damage the electrical circuits,
gas and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or material damage;
▪ Avoid using the belt sander on surfaces coated with
paints containing lead or other materials harmful to
health. Any contact or inhalation of dust may cause
allergic reactions and/or breathing disorders. Wear a
mask and work with a dust extraction device if the power
allows so;
▪ Materials containing asbestos cannot be worked.
Asbestos is carcinogenic.
Before
performing
cleaning,
changing, repairing and maintenance work, the power cord
must be unplugged from the socket.
Replace worn out or damaged parts immediately, so that
the power tool is always in a safe operating condition.
Cleaning:
The power tool must be carefully cleaned after each use.
Do not use aggressive cleaning products. These products
may damage plastics and metals, compromising the safe
operation of the power tool.
Maintenance:
Only maintenance works described in this instruction
manual may be carried out, all other works must be
performed by an official dealer.
Keep all nuts and screws well tightened in order to ensure
a safe operation.
