Adjustments and
Minor Repair
9.1
Service
Some services, such as adjusting the
cover alignment and patching holes, are simple
enough that you can do it yourself. Other services
are much more complex than they first appear;
therefore, we recommend that you leave repairs to
your local authorized service technician. Contact
your local service company for advice before you
undertake any serious service project on your own;
call Cover-Pools at 800-447-2838 to find a local
service company.
WARNING
In order to minimize the risk of serious injury, including death,
from electrocution or moving mechanical parts, be sure to
turn off the power to the cover at the mains circuit breaker.
Never adjust the cover or try to perform any other maintenance
while the cover is running. Keep hands, clothing, etc., away
from the mechanism while operating.
9.2
Uneven Cover Retraction
During cover installation, make sure the cover's
leading edge is aligned with the pool's end wall
before running the cover over the pool for the first
time. If the leading edge is misaligned by the time it
reaches the opposite wall, you will need to adjust the
reels.
IMPORTANT
Contact a service technician if the cover is off by a large
amount.
1. Fully uncover the pool.
2. Rotate the reels to remove any remaining rope
wound around them.
3. Insert a 5/32" hex key into the socket head inside
the reel that corresponds to the side that doesn't
close completely.
NOTE: The reel farthest from the cover controls the
non-motor side, and the reel closest to the cover
controls the motor side.
4. Turn the hex key counter-clockwise around three
times to increase the reel's diameter.
5. Test the adjustment by fully covering the pool. If
the leading edge is still misaligned, make another
small adjustment.
Keep making small adjustments and running the
cover until both sides of the leading edge reach
the far side of the pool simultaneously.
