IQ EV CHARGER ACTIVATION
Follow all the safety codes and installation requirements listed in this
manual.
Pre-requisites:
1. Refer to the IQ EVSE system configurations tech document for
supported configurations (available at Enphase Documentation
Center).
2. Make hardware upgrade recommendations to the homeowner to
leverage all IQ EV Charger smart features in an existing Enphase
site.
3. To utilize the excess solar to charge the EV in an Enphase PV-only
site, ensure the site has Consumption CT installed to monitor the
total home load.
4. Ensure that the CT is properly located and installed per the system
configurations document.
5. IQ EV Charger must be connected via IQ Load Controller or a third-
party load controller per
is powered through the backup panel (PV+Battery sites).
6. The default setting of the load controller must always be in
"Basic Mode". Give access to other load controller modes to
the homeowner if needed and educate the homeowner about the
expected behaviors.
Instructions for homeowners and installers:
Wireless connectivity:
1. IQ EV Charger works only on the 2.4 GHz wireless band. Make sure
you have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection at your site.
2. Use an appropriate net extender/converter if your home Wi-Fi
network is on a 5 GHz band as needed.
3. Ensure your EV Charger installation location has good Wi-Fi
coverage.
4. Use Home Wi-Fi access points or Wi-Fi extenders to increase the
coverage if needed.
