INTRODUCTION
Inspiring the joy of listening
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc. (TADL) grew from the spirit to discover technologies to perfectly recreate the pure
sound of live performances with uncompromising craftsmanship. We have inherited our philosophy from Bart Locanthi—
recognized across the globe as the ultimate sound technologist—who believed that genuine technology is true to the basics
and that genuine technology places greater importance on sound quality than on technology for its own sake.
At TADL, we are honing our technology to create equipment that reproduces musical sounds that evoke both the energy and
impact of live music.
Main Features
Duallogic-Circuit Technology
In order to accurately transmit audio signals, it is important that the dynamic characteristics of the transmission circuitry be
precisely matched to the polarity of the signals, and remain unaffected by external noise and changes in ground potential.
For this reason, fully balanced circuitry has been adopted in order to assure accurate transmission of signals with the correct
polarity.
Further, the uniformity of right and left channels is crucial to a stereo amplifier. To preserve that uniformity, identical PCB
units have been designed into each channel, together with identical lengths of wiring and identical styling, aiming to achieve
the ideal in every way.
Damping Technology
The massive aluminum chassis, 33 mm thick and 15 kg in weight, not only resists external vibration produced by speakers, but
electrically produces a low and stable ground potential.
In addition, the spike insulators release stresses received by the chassis from the mounting surface, while the three-point
suspension insulators eliminate instability produced by uneven mounting surfaces.
Low-noise design
In order to eliminate effects from power transformer vibration and magnetic flux leakage, the TAD-C700 features a dual-case
design to separately house the main electronics and power sections. Housing the power section in a separate structure has
made it possible to introduce a super-powerful 400 VA-class audio power transformer, thus allowing the accurate reproduction
of every aspect of the original audio signals.
With its full-balanced design, the TAD-C700's Duallogic-Circuit Technology, together with direct-current panel controls, LED
indicators, and lights, all contribute toward approaching the ultimate in high-fidelity and low noise.
Simple design for high-fidelity signal transmission
TAD believes that a simple signal path is the best means of producing accurate audio signals with high fidelity.
Signals input to the TAD-C700 are first processed for signal volume by the electronic volume control, after which they are
routed through an output stage circuit using 1st stage current feedback voltage amplification. With this simple design, the
INPUT SELECTOR remains as the only switch connected serially with the signal line.
The electronic volume controls feature TAD-developed ladder resistor-switching devices, boasting of ATT characteristics with
ultra-high accuracy and extremely low distortion (with 0.0005 % or less/1 Vrms inputs). This also produces the characteristic
low impedance shift in the input/output connections, and reduces sound deterioration when the volume is set to low levels.
Newly developed electronic volume controls are installed independently on left and right channels, thus helping realize
uniformity between left and right channels, while producing accurate sound localization and acoustic presence. In addition,
the secondary stage after the electronic volume controls features dual independent circuitry, thus resisting degradation of
sound quality due to output signal switching or branching, and eliminating interference between secondary-stage devices.
High-purity power supply circuitry
The power transformer's internal coil is meticulously routed to minimize contact points with the lead wires, thereby prioritizing
the attainment of heightened purity. Moreover, non-magnetic plating and OFC pure copper are employed for the direct wire
terminals, board-mounted terminals, and fastening screws, meticulously eradicating any potential for magnetic distortion.
