1.4 Classification of the warnings
The warnings are divided into four different categories and are indicated prior to potentially dangerous
work steps. Depending on the type of danger, the following signal words will be used:
Describes an imminent threatening danger. If not avoided, it may cause severe injuries or death.
Describes a potentially dangerous situation. If not avoided, this may result in death or serious injuries.
Describes a potentially harmful situation. If not avoided, this may result in slight or minor injuries.
NOTICE
Describes the risk of impairing work results, material damage, or irreparable damage to the device or
equipment.
2 Safety
2.1 Designated use
The device described in these operating instructions may be used only for the purpose and in the manner
described in these operating instructions. The device is part of a welding system. It is an optical measuring
instrument that automatically detects and measures the form of workpieces. It is intended for attachment to
a machine or a robot. The device must only be attached to access-restricted areas on the processing head
of a machine (e.g. a robot) or in systems with a fixed processing device and moving workpieces. Any other
use is considered improper. Unauthorized modifications or changes to enhance the performance are not
permitted. The system integrator is responsible for assessing the specific usage conditions. The device
transmits visible laser radiation with laser class 3R (EN 60825-1:2019).
► Do not make any structural modifications to the product.
► Do not use or store the device outdoors where it is wet.
► Do not use the device in environments where moisture (humidity, spray water including dripping water)
can penetrate the housing.
► Do not use the device in potentially explosive environments or environments with highly abrasive dusts.
► Do not use the device in environments polluted by chemicals if the chemicals could attack the device
housing.
► Do not use the device in environments in which it is not possible to adhere to the environmental and
usage conditions.
