• Do not pull the power cable over sharp edges to
prevent wrinkles and cracks that may lead to more
damage because of it.
• Never unplug the machine from the wall socket
by pulling on the cable, but grip it by the plug. Also
never hang the machine by the cable.
• Do not expose any part of the machine to ag-
gressive media such as chemicals or excessive
heat above 60 °C.
• Never make any technical modifications to the
machine.
• Only use abrasives and driving discs recom-
mended by MENZER that match the application
and machine dimensions and that exactly fit the
grinding spindle to prevent runout, vibration and
loss of control of the machine.
• The use of damaged insertable tools is prohib-
ited. Before every use, as well when having been
dropped on the floor and in case of other external
influences, insertable tools and driving discs must
be checked for damage and replaced if neces-
sary.
• Do not use a tool if its permissible speed is not
equal or higher than the maximum speed speci-
fied on the power tool.
• Use the long-neck sander only to work on dry
surfaces. Do not use water or other liquid cooling
lubricants as these can cause a fatal electric
shock.
• To prevent cuts or serious injury, do not run the
machine close to your body or directly on your
body. The power tool may only be carried on the
body when it is completely shut down.
• Only put the machine down after it has been
switched off and the driving disc has stopped
completely to avoid catching and kickbacks.
• Regularly clean the ventilation slots on the ma-
chine to maintain the cooling effect and to prevent
deposits due to electrically conductive dust, as
these can contribute the risk of electric shock and
short circuits.

• Disconnect the machine immediately from the
mains during breaks or at the end of work.
• Turn the power off immediately if unusual noises
are heard or unusual vibrations occur, and contact
our MENZER service.
4.3 working environment
• Make sure that there are no other people in
your work area or that they are always at a safe
distance from you.
• To prevent damage to the driving disc, all nails,
screws or other metal objects in the work surface
must be driven in deeper or completely removed
before sanding starts. This prevents machine
damage and jamming and kickback.
• Connect a suitable industrial vacuum cleaner to
reduce dust exposure.
• Sanding dust and flying chips from the abrasive
material or the work piece are a hazard to your
eyes. Wear protective eyewear!
• Sanding dust irritate the respiratory tract and
respiratory system. Wear a face or breathing
mask!
• Keep hands, hair, feet, and loose clothing away
from the driving disc and/or cover these.
• Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such
as pipes and radiators.
• Wear non-slip work shoes.
• Make sure that you stand firmly (good floor
contact and steady balance) and do not work too
far above your head because you could lose your
balance.
• Do not operate the machine near flammable
materials, as these can be ignited by sparks.
• Take note of the data sheets of the material
manufacturer of the work pieces that you want
to sand. Should spontaneously combustible
or explosive dust form, do not operate the
machine as a possible spark can have life-threat-
ening consequences.
• The machine may not be used in areas of explo-
sive hazard.
• Make sure that your work area is always well
ventilated to prevent fainting and poisoning or ac-
cidents as toxic fumes can form. Take note of the
data sheets of the material manufacturer. Wear
appropriate protective equipment.
• The instructions for protective equipment apply
to the user as well as for any person inside the
work area.
• The sanding of particularly hazardous sub-
stances (such as leaded paint and asbestos) is
highly toxic and should be avoided or done by
professionals with the correct equipment.
• Make sure that your work area is always well lit
to avoid accidents.
