6.6 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 19 / item
31)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (32).
The battery capacity indicator (31) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs fl ashing:
The temperature of the battery is too low. Remove
the battery from the device and leave it at room
temperature for a day. If the error occurs again,
this means that the battery has been completely
depthdischarged and is defective. Remove the
battery from the device. Never use or charge a
defective battery.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
HAZARD!
Always take the batteries out of the equipment
before starting any cleaning work.
7.1 Maintenance and storage
•
Clean the machine regularly. This will help to
keep the machine in good working order and
is the basis for a long working life.
•
Keep the vent slots clean while you work.
•
Clean the plastic body and other plastic parts
with a mild household cleaning agent and
a damp cloth. Do not use any aggressive
agents or solvents for cleaning purposes.
•
Never clean the shredder by spraying with
water.
•
Prevent water from getting inside the machine
at all cost.
•
Check the chassis securing screws from time
to time to ensure that they are tight.
•
If you do not intend to use the shredder for a
lengthy period, protect it from corrosion using
environmentally friendly oil.
•
Store the device in a dry room.
•
Store the device out of reach of children.
•
When you are finished with your work, take off
the loading funnel and clean the inside. Use
a brush to remove deposits from metal parts

on the inside. Apply a thin coating of oil to the
cleaned blade plate and blades.
•
When you mount the loading funnel, make
sure that the safety switch and the release
knob are clean.
7.2 Replace, sharpen and change blades
The blades on the blade plate are replaceable.
If you have to replace any blade, you must only
use genuine blades to ensure that they meet the
relevant quality and safety criteria.
Please note: For safety reasons we recommend
that you have all sharpening and blade
replacement work carried out by a specialist
workshop.
Always wear heavy duty working gloves
•
Swing open the loading funnel (Fig. 13/Item
2) by opening the release knob (Fig. 13/ Item
12) and remove it.
•
Undo the blade screws (Fig. 20/Item 27)
using the hex. key (Fig. 3/Item 19) and
remove the blades (Fig. 20/Item 26).
•
Each of the blades can be turned once as
they are ground sharp on both ends. Then
they must be replaced by new blades.
To assemble, proceed in reverse order.
•
Push the hex. key (Fig. 14 / Item 19) into the
hole provided for it in the ejector housing.
8. Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to
prevent it from being damaged in transit. The
raw materials in this packaging can be reused or
recycled. The equipment and its accessories are
made of various types of material, such as metal
and plastic. Never place defective equipment in
your household refuse. The equipment should
be taken to a suitable collection center for proper
disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of
such a collection point, you should ask in your
local council offi ces.
