Monitor
When no signals are present, the squelch on the transceiver automatically mutes the speaker so
you will not hear background noise. To manually deactivate the squelch, press and hold the
Monitor key. This is useful when you want to adjust the volume level, or when you need to hear a
weak signal.

The LED indicator lights green while the Monitor key is pressed.
Quiet Talk(CTCSS) and Digital Quiet Talk(DCS)
Some channels may have pre-programmed Subtones ( CTCSS / DCS ) .
The CTCSS / DCS tone is sub-audible tones that allow you to ignore (not hear) calls from other
parties who are using the same channel.
When you receive a signal that has a different tone from the one set in the transceiver , do not
hear the signal. Similarly , the transmitted signals will be heard only by parties whose CTCSS /
DCS set to correspond to the transceiver .
In practice, if others are talking on the same your channel, the CTCSS/DCS allows you to hear
only the broadcaster using the same CTCSS/DCS .
Note: Although using channels set up with CTCSS/DCS tones re- lieves you from listening to
unwanted calls, it does not mean your calls will be private.

Start scan
By tuning the transceiver on channel 16 , you start scanning for channels, you stop every time a
signal is received.
Scan lock
By tuning the transceiver on one of the channels 1-15 , scanning
Channel Voice announciation
If the voice announcement is activated, the equipment is switched on or every time you change the
channel ,it is announced with the type of pre - selected message.
Emergency alarm
When you press the Monitor button for 1 second , it enables the state of emergency apparatus .
The red LED flashes and the speaker emits a very loud sound to attract attention.
Press the PTT button for 1 second to disable this function .
Note: When the alarm is on , all keys are disabled.
