Note: The FreeSpace 3 Series II Acoustimass module requires the surface-mount
safety cable. It does not have attachment points for the flush-mount safety cable.
1.
Unpack the contents of the Gripple flush-mount safety cable kit (839760-

2.
Wrap the safety cable around a building support structure. Insert the open
end of the cable through the closed loop on the other end. Pull the open end
until the cable is secured around the building structure.
3.
Make any necessary audio connections, and then securely attach the rear
cover plate to the loudspeaker.
4.
Insert the open end of the safety cable into the Gripple fastener. Then, thread
the cable through the loudspeaker attachment point.
5.
Insert the cable back through the Gripple fastener by sliding the cable into its
second insertion hole. The Gripple fastener locks the cable into place. Ensure
the distance between the Gripple fastener and the loudspeaker attachment
point is at least 76 millimeters (3 inches).
6.
Remove slack from the safety cable such that, in the event of a fall, the top
(rear) of the loudspeaker will drop to a distance of no more than 152 millimeters
(6 inches) below the ceiling before it is retained by the safety cable.
You may need to adjust both sides of the loop through the Gripple fastener
to maintain 76 millimeters (3 inches) between the Gripple fastener and the
loudspeaker attachment point. This provides enough cable length for future
adjustment.
If you need to reposition the Gripple fastener, see the included Gripple
installation guidelines.
