installation
all the fi ttings, in addition to the effi -
cient operation of the safety valve.
- After checking the tightness, empty
the system completely in order to pre-
vent the water inside it from freezing.
- Cleaning the system
Prior to fi lling the system, it is necessary
to eliminate any residues that have built-
up during the manufacturing and instal-
lation phases. Even minimal amounts of
foreign material can act as a catalyst and
cause the carrier fl uid to decompose.
- Flush the system thoroughly with
water and/or a product specifi cally
designed for cleaning solar heating
systems, until all residues have been
removed.
- If specially formulated cleaning prod-
ucts have been used, fl ush the system
again with water only, in order to pre-
vent any potential chemical reactions
between the cleaning product and the
propylene glycol.
- Empty the system completely.
- Filling the system
Open all cut-off and relief devices, in par-
ticular the relief plugs on the collector
attachments and the air relief valve con-
nected to the degasser.
Only propylene glycol formulated for use
in solar heating systems can be used as
the carrier fl uid. It is not permitted to op-
erate the system using water only, even
in areas protected against frost (lack of
protection against corrosion).
Comply with any indications provided in
the glycol safety sheet.
- Introduce the carrier fl uid into the sys-
tem by means of a force pump through
the fi ll valve and the hose connector
provided, while keeping the fl ow rate
adjustment tap closed and the drain
tap open.

FLOW RATE
ADJUSTMENT VALVE
- Close the cut-off and relief devices in
sequence, as soon as the liquid starts
to escape. Leave the fi lling pump run-
ning until the system is completely
free of air bubbles. Before completing
the fi lling procedure, adjust the sys-
tem pressure and shut off the fi lling
and drain valves slowly.
- System pressure: 0.5 bar above the
static head (but at least 1.5 bar).
- Let the system stabilise then check
the pressure. If necessary, open the
valves and adjust the pressure value
again; once the fi lling value has been
reached, shut the valves.
- Adjusting the fl ow rate
(only possible once the electrical con-
nections have been made)
- The fl ow rate can be adjusted by inter-
vening on the valve inside the module.
- Turn the valve clockwise to reduce the
fl ow rate or anti-clockwise to increase
it.
- Adjust the fl ow rate defi ned by the sys-
tem's design.
- The system interface display will visu-
alise the fl ow rate.
