INSTRUCTIONS & PARTS LIST FOR RS10KA RECIPROCATING SAW
Read and understand these instructions before operating this tool.
Everyone using, maintaining, changing accessories or working near this tool must read, understand and follow these Safety Instructions!
Improperly used power tools can cause injury or death. Be sure these instructions accompany the tool when passed on to a different user.
Sioux power tools may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Only
qualified operators should install, adjust or use the reciprocating saw. Do not modify this reciprocating saw or any of its guards. Do not use
the reciprocating saw if it has been damaged or modified. Tools should be inspected periodically to ensure markings are legibly marked.
Reciprocating saws can cause flying particles.
Proper impact resistant eye protection must be worn at all times by tool user and bystanders. Failure of the workpiece,
accessories or the inserted tool can cause high velocity projectiles. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixed. Ensure sparks and
cuttings are directed not to cause a hazard.
Flying particles can cause eye injury.
Reciprocating saws present a risk of entanglement. Use of the tool can expose the operator's hands to hazards. Wear suitable gloves to
protect the hands.
Keep loose hair away from power tools and accessories. Keep hands away from moving parts of the tool and accessories. Do
not wear jewelry, loose clothing, or neckwear around power tools. Keep work area clear of cleaning rags and all items that could
become entangled with the tool.
Entanglements can cause injuries.
Reciprocating saws present a risk of operating hazards.
Avoid contact with the saw blade, knife or cutter to prevent cutting of hands and other body parts. Guards shall be securely in
place and in good function condition. Damaged, bent or severely worn guards shall be replaced with the tool manufacturer's
recommended guards. Wear gloves to protect from cuts, abrasion and heat. Operators and maintenance personnel should
be physically able to handle the bulk, weight and power of the tool. Hold the tool firmly and be ready to counteract normal or
sudden movements. Avoid injury by cutting or severing. Avoid contact with the blade, cutter or knife whenever the energy
supply is connected to the tool. Wear protective equipment, such as gloves, apron and helmet. Injury can be caused by
uncontrolled movements of the tool. Always ensure that all of the guide plate is held firmly against the workpiece. Cutting with
these tools create sharp edges: wear gloves to protect hands. Release the start-stop device in the case of an interruption of the
air supply. Use only lubricants recommended by Sioux Tools.
Hazards from operating a reciprocating saw may cause injury.
Reciprocating saws may cause discomfort.
Use a comfortable, not off-balance posture. Change posture during extended tasks.
If the operator experiences persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensations or
stiffness, the operator should seek medical assistance.
Disconnect the saw from the airline before changing the blade, accessory or servicing the saw.
Do not use accessories and consumables that are not recommended by Sioux Tools. Avoid direct contact with the inserted tool
during and after use as it can be hot or sharp. Inspect the blade before use. Do not use blades which may have been dropped
or which are chipped, cracked or otherwise defective.
Damaged tools can cause injury.
Workplace hazards around your work area can cause injury.
Be aware of slippery surfaces caused by the use of the tool and avoid trip hazards cause by the airline. Proceed with care in
unfamiliar surroundings. The circular saw should not be used in explosive atmospheres and is NOT insulated against contact
with electrical current. Ensure the work area is free from electrical cables, gas pipes and other hazards.
Be aware of your work area and hidden hazards that may be contact by the reciprocating saw.
Using the reciprocating saw can generate dust and fume hazards.
Dust and fumes generated by the reciprocating saw can cause ill health. Always wear a respiratory mask when using the saw.
Consider dust created by the tool and existing dust disturbed by the tool. Operate and maintain the saw as recommended in
order to minimize dust or fume emissions. Control dust at the point of emission. Select, maintain, and replace the cutting blade
as recommended in handbook to prevent unnecessary increase in dust and fumes. Dust and fumes generated by the cutting
with the reciprocating saw, may be explosive.
Dust and fumes generated during the cutting process may cause injury.
High noise levels can cause hearing damage.
Use hearing protection. Damping may help the work surface from ringing. Keep tool maintained to prevent an increase in
noise and vibration. Replace the blade to prevent an increase in noise. Ensure that the saw muffler is still installed. Additional
noise might be heard from the intended use of the saw. Significant increases of noise during operation of the saw may indicate
damage. The saw should be reviewed for damage.
Noise from operating the saw can cause injuries.
