• Turn lawn moweron its side. Make sure air
filter and carburetdr are up.
• Use a wood blockbetwlten blade and
mower housingto preventbladefrom
turningwhen removingbladeboll
• Protectyour handswithgloves and/orwrap
with heavy cloth.
• Remove blade boltby turning counter-
clockwise.

• Remove blade and attachinghardware
(bolt,lockwasher and hardenedwasher).
NOTE: Remove the bladeadapterand check
the key inside hubof bladeadapter. The key
mustbe in goodcondition to workproperly.
Replace adapterifdamaged.
TO REPLACE BLADE
• Posillonthe bladeadapteronthe engine
crankshaft. Be sure keyin adapterand
keywayare aligned.
• Positionblade on the bladeadapteraligning
the two(2) holesin the bladewiththe raised
lugson the adapter.
• Be surethe trailingedge of blade(opposite
sharpedge) is up towardthe engine.
• Installthe bladeboltwiththe lockwasher
and.hardenedwasher intoblade adapter
and crankshafL
• Use block of woodbetween blade and lawn
mower housingand tightenthe bladebolt,
turningS.
• The recommendedtightening torque is35-
40 ft.lbs.
IMPORTANT: Bladeboltis grade8 heat
treated.
