■ Individual call:
The individual call function allows you to transmit a DSC signal to a specific ship or coast station.
♦ Transmit an individual call:
In DSC menu, select "INDIVIDUAL" function, and then choose a pre-programmed individual address or "MANUAL INPUT".
● The ID code for the individual call should be pre-programmed in advance.
● When "MANUAL INPUT" is selected, press [▲] or [▼] to set the 9-digit MMSI ID code for the individual you wish to call.
Press [▲] or [▼] to select a desired communication channel.
● Communication channels are already preset into the transceiver in preferred order.
● After pressing [ENT], channel 70 is automatically selected and "READY" appears on the display.
Press [ENT] to transmit the individual call. If channel 70 is busy, the transceiver will remain in standby mode until the channel becomes clear,
remaining on the operating channel until an acknowledgement call is received. "WAITING FOR ACK" scrolls in the channel comment display.
When the acknowledgement call is received, beeps sounds, "DSC" and "RCV ABLE ACK" or "RCV UNABLE ACK" appears into LCD. When
"Able to comply" is received, press [PTT] to communicate with the responding ship.
♦ Transmit an individual acknowledgement:
When receiving an individual call, you can transmit an acknowledgement ("Able to comply" or "Unable to comply") by using the on-screen
prompts (Quick ACK). Also, you can send an acknowledgement through the menu system (Manual ACK).
Quick ACK:
When an individual call is received, press [CLR] to stop the beeps, press [ENT] and select the "ABLE" or "UNABLE" acknowledgement option.
Manual ACK:
In DSC menu, select "INDV ACK" function, choose a desired individual address or ID code and select the "ABLE" or "UNABLE"
acknowledgement option.
● Select "UNABLE" for "No reason given".
● After pressing [ENT], channel 70 is automatically selected and "READY" appears on the LCD.
