11. TAG channel icon:
Appears when a TAG channel is selected.
12. Weather channel icon:
"WX" appears when a weather channel is selected.
"WX ALT" appears when the weather alert function is in use; blinks when an alert tone is received.
13. Channel comment display:
Channel comment appears if programmed.
"SC" blinks during priority scan; "SCAN" blinks during normal scan.
"DW" blinks during dual-watch; "TW" blinks during tri-watch.
BASIC OPERATION:
■ Power ON/OFF:
Turn this control clockwise to power turn ON the transceiver and turn counterclockwise to power OFF.
■ Transmit:
1. Press and hold the [PTT] to transmit and release to receive.
Notes:
- "LOW" appears when low transmission power is selected.
- Choose low transmission power for short range communication; choose high power for longer distance communications.
- Some channels are with low transmission power only.
- Channel 70 is for DSC transmitting only.
- Do not transmit without antenna, transmitting without antenna may damage the transceiver.
- If the TOT function is enabled via the programming software, the transmission timer function prohibits continuous transmission
for a long time.
