6.8. Preparing the scooter for
transportation

You can fold up the scooter in order to save space during transporta-
tion.
•
Switch off the scooter.

- Remove the armrests (Fig. 30) and then fold the back rest forwards
onto the seat as described in Section 5.

Remove the basket (Fig. 31)
•
Fold the steering column towards the foot area (Fig. 32).
•
Depending on the available space, it is sufficient to fold down the
back rest and steering column and secure the scooter using securing
straps on the frame.
•
Carefully protect the scooter against slipping by attaching the secur-

ing straps at the designated holding points (Fig. 34, I, II).
•
The scooter, including the batteries, is generally suitable for transpor-
tation on an aircraft. You can find out the transportation conditions
from your airline. The batteries may need to be removed. Information
on this can be found in Section 6.9.

6.9. Disassemblying for storage
For storage, you must also remove the batteries, be extremely careful.
Avoid handling metal tools, touching the battery terminals and observe
the instructions of the battery manufacturer.
This work should only be done by a trained
technician. There is danger of fatal injury!
For your safety, the seat must be lifted by two
people, as it is the heaviest individual part (17 kg).
•
You will firstly need to remove the seat and the panel.
•
Remove the seat by pulling it upwards.
•
The panel is fixed in place with 2 hand screws.
•
Undo these screws and remove the panel.
•
Disconnect the plug connection for the rear lighting.
•
The batteries should then be removed. To make this easier, the cables
are fitted with plug connections.
•
Disconnect the plug connections (Fig. 36) for both batteries.
•
Then undo the screw on the mounting bracket (Fig. 37). You do not
need to completely remove the screw in order to do this.
•
You can then lift out the batteries (Fig. 38).
RISK OF ENTRAPMENT! Ensure that
you are aware of the increased risk of
entrapment when stowing your scooter.
