6.3. Driving the scooter
6.4. Check before Use
6.4.1.
Make sure your brakes are operating properly before each use.
Start off carefully and let go of the throttle lever. The scooter must
come to a complete stop as usual.
When stopped, the mechanical brakes must engage with an audible
click. hould you notice any unusual braking behavior, please notify
your dealer right away and ensure the scooter is not being used.
The motor brake is functioning correctly if you can't push the scooter
when it is turned off.
Should you nevertheless be able to do so, then the electro-magnetic
brakes are defective. In this case you may no longer use the scooter.
Contact your dealer immediately.
6.4.2.
indicators and horn
Make sure your lights, indicators and horn are functioning properly before
each use.
If a unit under inspection does not react when the corresponding but-
ton on the control panel is pushed, please notify your dealer immedi-
ately and ensure the scooter is not being used.
6.4.3. Inspection of Tyres
Before embarking on any journey, check that the tyres are in good condi-
tion.
Check the tyre pressure. This should be 3.5 bar.
62
Brake Inspection
Checking the lights,
Carry out a regular check of the tread depth of the tyres once a
month. This should be at least 1 mm.
Any faulty or worn out tyres must be changed through your mobility
dealer.
6.5. Driving the scooter
You should make your first journey on a level site with ample space.
Ensure that you are sitting correctly on your scooter. Set the speed
as low as possible. You can increase the speed when you are more
familiar with handling the scooter.
To switch on your scooter, insert the ignition key into the ignition lock
on the control panel and turn the key a quarter turn to the right (fig.
22).
To switch off the scooter, turn the key a quarter turn to the left. After
getting out of the scooter, always ensure that you have removed the
ignition key and do not leave the scooter unattended with the igni-
tion key inserted.
Please make sure that you do not have your hand on the forwards /
backwards lever when you switch on your scooter. This would cause
your scooter to display an error message. In this case, turn it off and
then on again to rectify this error.
Pull back the speed selection lever on the right to move forwards. The
further you pull back the lever, the higher the speed. The speed can
go up to the maximum speed that has been preset using the speed
control. Release the lever to stop gently. Practice these two procedures
in order to get used to them (fig. 23).
Steering is easy and works exactly like a bicycle in that you turn the
handlebars in the direction in which you wish to move. Leave plenty
of distance when you travel around a curve so that the rear wheels
are able to follow the path of the front wheels and so that you do not
cut across objects.
It is necessary to pay attention when reversing. Ensure that your
speed is low before reversing. Please keep in mind that you need to
steer in the opposite direction when you are reversing. This requires
practice. Practice this also on a level site with ample space.
