The Electrosurgical Generator automatically performs a series of self-checks of
its electronic circuits immediately when it is powered on, but before entering
Standby mode. Additionally, RF and microwave power output checks are
performed when the Electrosurgical Generator is switched ON from Standby.
During activation of the RF and microwave outputs, further checks are
performed to ensure that the output is as intended and as indicated to the user
through the Display. Other internal checks are also performed to ensure the unit
is performing as intended.
If an error or fault condition is detected, the following will occur:
• The RF and microwave outputs are disabled regardless of the Footswitch
pedal being pressed
• The red LED illuminates on the Front Panel
• A warning tone is audible
• A message relating to the error or fault condition is displayed
If the Electrosurgical Generator does not switch on, it is likely that there is a fault
in the power connection. Check, and if applicable, correct the following possible
failures:
• AC power cord is not connected to the AC power outlet.
• AC power outlet is switched off or faulty.
• AC power cord is not fully plugged into the inlet at the Rear Panel of the
Electrosurgical Generator or the AC power outlet.
• Electrosurgical Generator is not turned on.
If four or more hours have elapsed since the Electrosurgical Generator was last
used, press the On / Standby button.
If the Electrosurgical Generator is too cold, with risk of water condensation on
internal parts, the fans turn at full speed to remove condensation. Wait until the
Electrosurgical Generator clears the fault condition automatically once it is warm
enough.
Ensure the Footswitch connection plug is correctly aligned with the socket on
the rear end of the Electrosurgical Generator. Check and turn the locking ring
clockwise to secure the connection.
