Normal Use
Coagulation
When Type 2 or 3 Instruments are selected, pressing the Right (blue) Footswitch pedal activates the
delivery of MW energy to the tip of the Instrument for coagulation of soft tissue. While the MW
coagulation waveform is delivered:
- the word COAG and the power setting are highlighted on the Treatment Screen
- a low-pitched tone is audible
- the blue coagulation indicator LED on the Front Panel is illuminated
- the Microwave indicator LED on the Front Panel flashes

A rotating line animation is shown at the bottom Treatment Screen
For some Type 2 and Type 3 Instruments, the Electrosurgical Generator will automatically switch off the
coagulation output after a defined period of continuous activation. A message will be displayed, and a
short warning tone will be audible when the coagulation has been switched off.
To reactivate the coagulation, release the blue Footswitch pedal and press again.

Turning OFF the Electrosurgical Generator
reo Medical recommends that the Electrosurgical Generator be set in Standby mode when not in active

use for treatment.
To set the Electrosurgical Generator into Standby mode, press and hold the ON/Standby button (1) on
the Front Panel of the Electrosurgical Generator.
To turn the Electrosurgical Generator OFF, push the On / Off Power switch (10) marked 'O' inwards
located on the Rear Panel.
Footswitch Operation & Generator Fascia Buttons Operation
Footswitch control of functions on the user interface is applicable for:
•
Instrument selection and confirmation.
•
Power output delivery (Footswitch only function).
•
Power setting selection.
Where a function cannot be performed via the Footswitch controls, use the Generator fascia buttons to
navigate the display.
