The charging process is divided into 6 phases, see fig.B pag. 6:
a
1 - Analysis. When the battery is connected, the charger performs an analysis.
2 - Bulk. Constant current initial charge phase.
3 - Absorption + Final. Constant voltage charging phase in which the current
absorbed by the battery drops.
4 - Conditioning + Final. Optional deep charge stage. (WET DEEP only)
a
The charger can finish charging in two different ways depending on the setting:
5 - Floating: Final charge phase in buffer, the charger acts as a charge
maintainer for the entire time it is connected to the battery, bringing the voltage
to 2.25V / element to avoid self-discharge over time.
6 - Equalization: Final charge phase in equalization, with additional duration
a
of 13 hours that balances the charge of the elements and helps fight sulfation
and the general decay of the battery.
To connect the device to the power supply, use the cable coming out of the
appliance. At its extremity it will be sufficient to connect a suitable plug
equipped with a ground terminal or use the socket included, if present.
Avoid the use of extensions. The power socket to which the battery charger
will be connected must be proportionate to the power of the same charger and
must have incorporated fuses or other standard protection.
Check the plate data regarding:
V– (power supply voltage), KVA (power) and A– (current).
Make sure the ground connection is correct. Any replacement of the power
cable must be performed by competent and authorized personnel.
WARNING! Before connecting the battery make sure that the charger has
been properly programmed by qualified personnel.
Be careful not to invert the cables when connecting the battery terminals: for
this connection it is advisable to use the appropriate one-way connectors.
Make sure that the contacts between the cables and the connectors, both
towards the power supply and the battery, are in good condition.
The Q-SERIES LOG inverter battery chargers are protected from:
a
-Polarity inversion by means of electronic protection and replaceable fuse.
If a connection to the battery is mistakenly made with reverse polarity,
the polarity inversion warning will appear on the display together with a
repeated audible "beep" sound.
