f. Lower the auger bit into the surface

Allow the auger bit to bite into the
material, letting the machine do the work.
g. As the auger bit begins to fill with debris, it is important to constantly clear it to
produce a clean cut and reduce the amount of effort required – while the auger
is operating at full speed, slowly lift it from the hole and allow the debris to clear
from the auger bit.
h. After using this machine, release the trigger switch and allow the auger to come
to a complete stop.
i. When leaving the machine, such as during a break, do not leave the machine
inserted in the soil/ice or lean it against a wall. Install the blade guard onto the ice
auger bit and store the machine in a stable position.
