the following European Directives: 89/336/EEC.
1) GENERAL OUTLINE
Movement and presence sensor with active infrared rays for controlling
automatic doors. RIP is a movement and presence detector with active
infrared rays controlled by a microprocessor.
It carries out two functions: it is devised to activate any automatic door
existing on the market, and it is used to detect the presence of anyone
standing in the vicinity of single or double-leaf sliding doors.
Four frequencies to be set
Self-diagnosis
Possible adjustment of the area controlled by the sensor
Switch for snow mode preventing any malfunction caused by the
presence of snow, insects etc.
Programming of the presence detection time.

5) FITTING AND WIRING (Fig. 3)
1) Use the drilling template to make the holes for fitting and connection.
2) Remove the cover using a coin or a similar object.
3) Secure the unit using the screws supplied.
4) Connect the cables by pressing together the connectors provided.
5) Position the connector in its seat.
6) Set the sensor parameters as indicates in sections 6 and 8.
7) Position the covering element on the sensor and clean the sensor.
NOTE: To obtain maximum depth and width for the detection
field, fit the RIP device as high as possible and use the maximum
angle available.

1) Presence detection timer. The timer can be set using commutators
1 and 2. The RIP device will detect the presence of a fixed object
only for the period of time set in the presence timer. After that the
timer will be reset to zero, and then restarted when any movement
occurs.
2) Detection field depth (lines). Adjust the detection field depth by
setting switches 3 and 4 as shown in the figure.
3) Frequency. When two or more sensors are found within a short
distance, alternating frequencies must be set to prevent any
interference. (H + MH + ML + L = maximum 4 sensors) .
4) Monitoring modes. The snow mode can be selected by means of
the switch. The snow mode must only be used in places subject
to heavy snowfalls or very rigid weather conditions.
5) Self-diagnosis "ON". When supplied with power for the first time,
the RIP sensor automatically starts the self-diagnosis function
(see section 10).
7) POWER
BEFORE APPLYING POWER, READ AND FOLLOW THESE
INSTRUCTIONS.
When power is applied, the sensor will read and store the environmental
optical parameters. This is necessary for Presence Detection to work
properly.
CLEAR THE AREA OF ANY UNNECESSARY OBJECTS.
Apply POWER. Vacate the Detection Pattern immediately. While the
sensor sees ANY moving objects in its DETECTION PATTERN, it will
not proceed to the following step.
DO NOT enter DETECTION PATTERN for 10 seconds (Presence
Detection Setting).TEST the presence feature, especially near the
door.
When carrying out the following work,
TURN OFF THE POWER:
1. in case of any modifications made to the material of the floor (wool
/ rubber)
2. while adjusting the field or detection sensitivity, in order to allow
the sensor to newly detect the environmental optical parameters.
