2.2. Risk of tipping over
If fitted, the anti-tip wheels which are fitted on both sides (see Chapter
4.16) will largely prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards.
However please note that driving with anti-tip wheels is only possible
in a limited way on ground with different levels, lift platforms and
ramps. Make sure there is sufficient gap at the top, bottom and sides.
2.3. Safety in vehicles
To see whether your wheelchair is permitted for use as a seat in a
Vehicle for Transporting Individuals with Impaired Mobility or not, you
can refer to the sticker on the identification label on the wheelchair.

If your wheelchair is not designed to be used as a seat in a vehicle,
under no circumstances must it be used as such. It does not fulfil the
requirements in compliance with ISO 7176-19. Violation can cause the
most serious injuries resulting in death in the case of an accident
(Fig. B).

2.4.
Use on roads
The wheelchair is designed for indoor and outdoor use. Please note
that when you drive on public roads you must comply with road traffic
regulations. Do not endanger other users through reckless driving, this
applies particularly on pavements.

2.5. Brake
Braking during use:
When in motion, brake the wheelchair using the handrims. Please note
that the hands may become hot when doing this (see Chapter 4.10).
Parking brake/parking:
As soon as the wheelchair has stopped, push both brake levers forward
(Fig. 23). The wheelchair is securely braked when it can no longer be
pushed and both brake levers are pushed forward to the stop position.
Pull the lever towards you to release the brake (see Chapter 4.10.1).
Drum brake:
As an option, the wheelchair can be fitted with a drum brake which
can only be operated by an attendant using the brake lever on the
push handles.
2.6. Intended use
The wheelchair is designed to increase the mobility only for adult
persons and those who have difficulty walking with the indications
specified (see Section 2.7). The maximum payload of
- 125 kg for the Pyro Light Optima and
- 170 kg for the Pyro Light Optima XL
must not be exceeded.
Please note:
We can only provide a warranty if the product is used under the
conditions specified and for the intended purposes.
2.7. Indications
Provision of a wheelchair is intended for adult persons who are unable
to walk or who have severely impaired mobility, e.g. through:

paralyses
•
loss of limbs
•
limb defects/deformity
