Electrical safety - danger of electric shock
WARNING: Keep the device away from water. Do not
use this device in the vicinity of bath tubs, wash basins or
other containers that hold water!
• If you use the device in the bathroom, the power plug must
always be disconnected after use because the proximity to water
can be dangerous even while the device is switched off.
• For additional protection, the installation of a residual current
device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying
the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
• Before connecting the appliance, check that the mains voltage
information on the type plate matches the speci cations of your
power network. The type plate is located inside the housing of the
appliance.
• Do not use adapters, power strips and/or extension cords. If the
power plug does not match your socket, have the socket replaced
with a matching socket by a quali ed technician.
• When using an electrical appliance, always follow these basic
rules:
- Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet.
- Never use the appliance in bare feet.
- When disconnecting the power plug, always pull on the plug
itself and not on the cord or the appliance.
- Never subject the appliance to humidity or weather in uences
(rain, sunlight).
• Always disconnect the power plug from the power supply before
cleaning or servicing the appliance and while it is not in use.
• Do not use the appliance if the housing or the power cord are
damaged or if the appliance does not work properly. If the
power cord of this appliance is damaged, contact an authorised
customer service centre in order to prevent associated dangers.
Danger of re and explosion
• Only place the device on heat-resistant surfaces and do not
cover it (e.g. with hand towels) during operation.
• Keep the device away from highly ammable liquids and
objects.
• Never operate the appliance without supervision.
Injury hazard
• The plates and the surrounding parts of the device become
very hot during operation. Direct skin contact presents a risk of
burns!
• Be careful to avoid direct contact between the hot surfaces of
the device and skin, in particular the ears, eyes, face and neck.
• Only bring the plates into contact with your hair for a short time,
otherwise the hair could be damaged.
Danger of material damages
• Never use the device with synthetic hair or wigs.
• Keep the plates clean and free from dust, dirt, gel, hair setting
lotion, styling spray, etc. These substances could permanently
damage the plates and their coating.
• Do not wind the power cable around the device.
