6) Dip a brush (diameter approx. 2 cm) in a container of water and
neutral soap, and wet the tyre beads abundantly (Fig. 6).
7) In the valve area, squeeze the tyre and enlarge it as far as possible
so that while it is being inflated, the air does not immediately exit the
tyre (Fig.7).
8) Check that the valve is fully open (Fig. 8).
9) Inflate the tyre without exceeding the maximum pressure of 3.5
bar/50 Psi using a compressor or a high volume pump, so the tyre
bead is seated on the edge of the rim. For covers with widths of up
to 2.2 inches, it is normally sufficient to inflate to a maximum of 2.75
bar/ 40 psi.
If the tyre bead is not correctly seated with these pressures, repeat the
procedure starting from the check of tyre- rim compatibility.
DANGER!
Never exceed the maximum pressure limit of 3.5 bar (50 psi).
Inflating the tyre to a pressure higher than the indicated
value may result in a sudden tyre blow-out and cause an acci-
dent and severe or even fatal injury.
In case of 35 - 40 mm wide "gravel" tyres, never exceed the
maximum pressure of 5 bars (72 psi), or the limit pressure of
the tyre if it is lower than 5 bars (72 psi).
