SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION! As ice skating and inline skating, just as many comparable forms of
sports, are forms of sports with a relatively high risk of injury, you should in prin-
ciple use protective equipment. Always wear a hand and wrist guard, knee and el-
bow pads and reflecting clothes and a helmet while skating. However, please
remember that wearing complete safety gear cannot guarantee 100% protection.
HUDORA also provides protectors, helmets and reflecting products. For more information,
visit our http://www.hudora.de/.
You may not make any changes to your ice skates and your inline skates that might impair
your safety. The self-locking effect of clinch studs can deteriorate with repeated tighte-
ning and releasing. Sharp edges which appear during use must be removed as quickly as
possible. Regular inspection, servicing and maintenance increase the safety and life of
your Skate Combo Sets.
Use the inline skates only on suitable surfaces that are smooth, clean, dry and as free from
traffic as possible. Always give due consideration to other traffic and remember that there
are restrictions for inline skaters in the Road Traffic Ordinance.
• Always check that the connecting elements and closing parts are firmly locked before
starting. In the case of inline skate use, please check that the stopper has enough
material and is not worn out.
• Always ensure that your combo-skates suitably fit. They should not be too
small but must under no circumstances be too big, as you will not be able to stand
securely if the boot is too large.
• Please do not make any modifications to the construction of the product as this may
influence the skate's safety!
• For your own safety, please use original spare parts only. These can be sourced from
HUDORA.
• Always use blade guards when away from the ice rink. They will help protect the
blades' skating properties for a long period of time.
• Please always include the instructions when passing on the product to a third party!
• Do not use your ice skates once the blades have become blunt or rusty, or if the rivets
on the shoes have come loose or the shoelaces have been torn.
• Warning: Ground blades are sharp and can cause cuts!
• When skating on naturally ice-covered areas, e.g. on frozen lakes, there is a danger
that you could fall through the ice!
INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSEMBLY
adJUstInG the sIZe In the case OF Ice skates (Figure Q)
Please help your child adjust the size of their skates. You have to hereby loosen the buckles
and press the adjustment knob on the heel outer side of the skate. You can now push the
boot backwards and forwards on the blade until you have found the right size. You will find
a shoe size marker where the front part of the sole meets the blade mount. After adjusting
the boot, release the button and pull the front of the boot again until you hear it lock into
place. Finish by checking that the boot fits properly.
All images are examples of the design.

Remove the two parts of the inner sole, fold the boot tongue forwards and the rear part
of the inline skate backwards and up. Adjust the boot to the maximum boot size in order
to loosen the front screw in the toe area that connects the boot vertically with the inline
chassis. Loosen this screw with the supplied screwdriver (figure A). Now adjust the boot to
the smallest boot size in order to also loosen the rear screw in the heel area that likewise
vertically connects the boot with the chassis. Loosen this screw with the provided Allen
wrench (figure B).
Remove the two screws on the side of the boot that horizontally fix the inline chassis on to
the boot. Use Allen wrenches for both, so that you can use the Allen wrenches to counter-
act each other, as shown in Figure C.
Subsequently loosen the inline-chassis (Figure D). Please place the threaded plates
(Figure F1) to support the skids frame in the designated position (exemplified in Figure F).
Now attach the skids frame (Figure E). Before tightening the two screws on the inside of
the boot, you should pay attention to the following:
-
You should for simplicity adjust the boot to the smallest size in order to tighten the rear
screw and to the largest size to tighten the front screw.
-
You should ensure that the front screw (Figure E1), as shown in the exploded view
(Figure G), leads through the washer (Figure G2), the boot and the spacer (Figure G3)
in order to then tighten it on to the skids frame.
After you have tightened the two screws (figure H and I) fix the two horizontal screws
(figure J). Then subsequently re-insert the two parts of the inner sole and align the inner
boot as well as tongue and laces.

Open the buckle and Velcro closure of the ice-skate and loosen the laces. Remove the two
parts of the inner sole, fold the boot tongue to the front and the rear part of the inner boot
backwards and up. Adjust the boot to the maximum boot size in order to loosen the front
screw in the toe area that vertically connects the boot with the skids frame. Loosen this
screw with the supplied screwdriver (figure K). Now adjust the boot to the smallest boot
size in order to loosen the rear screw in the heel area that likewise vertically connects the
boot with the skids frame. Loosen this screw with the provided Allen wrench (Figure L).
Remove the two screws on the side of the boot, which horizontally fix the skids frame
onto the boot. Use Allen wrenches for both, so that you can use the Allen wrenches to
counteract each other, as shown in Figure M.
Then loosen the skids frame (Figure N). If not already um-mounted, insert the threaded
plates (Figure F1) in the envisaged position on the inline chassis (exemplified in Figure F).
Now insert the inline chassis (Figure O). Please hereby ensure that the upper part of the
stopper bracket – marked by a grey circle in Figure P – is led through the lower rear part
of the boot in order to be able to tighten it onto the boot. Now before you firmly tighten the
two screws on the inside of the boot, you should pay attention to the following:
-
You should for simplicity adjust the boot to the smallest size in order to tighten the rear
screw and to the largest size in order to tighten the front screw
-
Ensure that the front screw (Figure E1), as shown in the exploded view (Figure G),
leads through the washer (Figure G2), the boot and the spacer (Figure G3) in order to
then tighten it onto the inline chassis.
After you have tightened the two screws (Figure A and B), fix the two horizontal screws
(figure C). Then re-insert the two parts of the inner sole and align the inner boot as well
as tongue and laces.
ICE SKATE CONSTRUCTION
A skate boot is referred to in professional circles as „Ice-complete". Ice skates are boots
with a rigidlyattached blade, the actual ice skate. The plastic shell and the skate are bolted
together tightly. The skate blade consists of steel of a hardness of at least 52 HRC at the
contact surface. The ices skates are ground ready for use.
