Question/Problem - Cause
Causa
The drywall sander does not switch on:
• The power cord is unplugged or there is an electrical
breakdown;
• The extension cord is too long, or the cross-section of
the wire is too thin;
• The ON/OFF switch is damaged;
• The supply voltage is too low;
The sander runs unevenly over the surface:
• The material or surface are too hard;
• The sanding disc or sanding sheet is deformed;
Excessive grinding of the material or surface being worked
on:
• The rotation speed is too high;
• The sandpaper grit is too coarse;
Poor sanding performance:
• The sandpaper is not suitable for the work to be
performed;
• The drying periods of the material to be worked on
were not respected;
• The material to be worked has high proportion of filler
material, for example soft crack filler;
• The sanding disc is already placed over or touching
the surface to be sanded when the drywall sander is
switched on (formation of streaks);
• The sanding head is inclined;
Suction is insufficient, too much dust:
• The vacuum cleaner is not switched on;
• The sandpaper holes do not match the holes in the
Velcro pad;
• The suction hose is clogged or folded;
• The collection bag is full;
• The rotation speed is inappropriate;
Body overheats:
• Overloaded machine;
• Incorrect housing or parts assembly inside the
drywall sander;
• Faulty power supply;
Sparks around the rotor:
• The carbon brushes are worn out;
• Short-circuited stator or rotor;
Solution
• Check the plug, socket and circuit breaker;
• Remove or replace the extension cord.
Plug the power cord directly into the socket;
• Replace the ON/OFF switch;
• Check that the supply voltage is appropriate;
• Reduce the speed;
• Replace it;
• Reduce the speed;
• Use a finer grit sandpaper;
• Use a finer grit sandpaper;
• Respect the drying periods of the materials and the
manufacturers' recommendations;
• Use a finer grit sandpaper;
• Press the sanding head against the surface without the
sanding disc touching the surface. It must be already
rotating before applying pressure;
• Work with the sanding head parallel to the work
surface;
• Switch on the vacuum cleaner;
• Put the sandpaper in the correct position;
• Unclog or straighten the suction hose;
• Empty the collection bag;
• Adjust the rotation speed;
• Reduce working pressure;
• Check if there is any blockage or part touching the
rotor;
• Check the supply voltage and adjust it according to the
technical data;
• Replace the carbon brushes;
• Call technical assistance;
