3.4 Thermal
protection
The requisite precautions concerning thermal safety
are stipulated in DIN-Standard 12 880, Part 1, Table 3 (see
Appendix).
The thermal safety class which applies to these incubators
is listed on the nameplate.
No overtemperature
protection
Thermal safety class 0:
No direct protection for the incubator, its environment and
load.
Only admissible for non-dangerous loads.
- If the temperature control system fails, the subsequent
rise of the temperature inside the incubator will lead to
damage.
- Only admissible for attended operation.
- The operation of these incubators must be checked at
sufficiently short intervals.
- Incubators of this thermal safety class may not be built
into laboratory furniture or stacked.
Supplementary equipment can be added to the incubators
of safety class 0, if a temperature limit controller or an
upper/lower limit controller is installed.
A Heraeus Serviceman can carry out such an addition at
any time.
