If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment .
3 Applications
Combined with a transmitter of the TXS-900
series from IMG STAGELINE (wireless microphone
TXS-900HT or pocket transmitter TXS-900HSE
with a microphone connected), the multifrequency
re ceiver TXS-900 provides a wireless audio trans-
mission system, e . g . for stage applications . The
receiver uses "True Diversity" technology and
op erates in the two UHF ranges 823 – 832 MHz
and 863 – 865 MHz .
There are 3 operating modes to set the trans-
mission channel: manual setting, channel scan or
selection from one of 4 preset groups (8 channels
in each group) . The receiver and the transmitter
are synchronized by radio transmission: When
the synchronization button is kept pressed on the
transmitter and the button SYNC is briefly pressed
on the receiver at the same time, the transmitter
is set to the transmission channel of the receiver .

3.1 Conformity and approval

Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare
that the receiver TXS-900 complies with the direc-
tive 1999 / 5 / EC . The EU declaration of conformity
is available on request from MONACOR INTER-
NATIONAL . The receiver is generally ap proved
for operation in EU and EFTA countries; it is
licence-free and requires no registration.
4 Setting up
The receiver can be placed on a table or be installed
into a rack (482 mm / 19") . For optimum reception,
make sure that there are no obstacles between
the transmitter and the receiver . Do not position
the units in the immediate vicinity of any large
metal surfaces or digital devices (e . g . CD players,
computers) .

4.1 Installation into a rack

For installation of one receiver into a rack, use the
two long rack brackets provided . Use 3 screws
each to fasten the brackets to the left and right
sides of the receiver .
Two receivers can be installed into a rack side
by side as a receiver pair . For this purpose, each
receiver is supplied with a connecting piece and a
short rack bracket: Use one connecting piece to link
10
the receivers on their top sides and the other con-
necting piece to link them on their bottom sides .
Use 4 screws for each connecting piece . Fasten the
two short rack brackets to the left and right sides
of the receiver pair, using 3 screws each .
5 Connecting Antennas
and an Audio Unit
5.1 Antennas
Connect the receiving antennas provided (1) to
the antenna jacks (7) and put them in a vertical
position .
When installing the receiver into a rack (
ter 4 .1), the reception may be improved when the
receiving antennas are placed at the front of the
rack . For this purpose, each rack bracket is pro vided
with a hole for installing an antenna . Thus, both
antennas of the receiver or – for a receiver pair –
one antenna of each receiver can be installed at
the front of the rack .
To install an antenna at a rack bracket:
1) Insert a BNC adapter (2 × BNC jack, 50 Ω) into
the hole provided on the bracket and fasten it .
2) Connect the antenna to the front jack of the
adapter .
3) Use a 50 Ω BNC cable to connect the rear jack
of the adapter to one of the antenna jacks on
the rear of the unit .

5.2 Audio connection

For connection to a microphone input or a line
input of the subsequent unit (e . g . mixer, amplifier),
use one of the two audio outputs (8):
– balanced XLR output
This output should be preferred when the units
are far apart . The balanced signal transmission
offers a higher protection against interference
which may occur especially with long cables .
– unbalanced 6 .3 mm output (a matching connec-
tion cable is provided)
Note: Never use the balanced output and the unbal-
anced output at the same time; the signal quality may
be affected .
Use the sliding switch (9) to match the output level
to the input: For connection to a line input, set the
switch to the left position LINE; for connection to
a microphone input, set the switch to the right
position MIC .
