USING YOUR APPLIANCE
To get the most out of the appliance, please read carefully the following tips on food placement:
•
There should always be space between foods to facilitate air circulation.
•
Food should be kept in an airtight package to prevent it from drying or having a bad odor.
•
Hot food must be cooled before being placed in the fridge.
•
Otherwise, the temperature and therefore the power consumption will increase.
•
Vegetables should be placed in the fridge's drawers. Never freeze fresh fruits and vegetables,
as they will be unfit for consumption after thawing.
•
Reducing the frequency of the door being opened can efficiently reduce electricity consumption.
•
Place fresh foods, such as fish or meat, in the fridge to preserve their flavor and nutrients.
•
Do not put fresh food directly in contact with already frozen food.
•
Never refreeze a defrosted product.
FRESH FOOD CARE
For best results:
•
Store foods that are fresh and of good quality. Make sure foods are tightly wrapped or covered
before storing. This will prevent food from dehydration, spoilage or loss of flavor and help
maintain freshness. It will also prevent odor transfer. It is not necessary to wrap vegetables and
fruit if they are stored in the crisper drawer of the fridge.
•
Make sure foods that give off a strong odor are wrapped or covered properly and placed away
from foods such as butter or milk that may be contaminated by such strong odors.
•
Allow hot foods to cool down before placing them in the fridge.
DAIRY FOODS AND EGGS
•
Most prepackaged dairy products have a "use by /best before/best by/ date" recommendation
stamped on them. Store them in the fridge and consume them within the recommended time.
•
Butter can be contaminated with strong-smelling foods, so it is best to store it in a sealed
container.
•
Eggs should be stored in the fridge.
RED MEAT
•
Place fresh red meat on a plate and wrap it with cling film or aluminum foil.
•
Store cooked and raw meat in separate dishes. This will prevent any fluids from the raw meat
from contaminating the cooked meat.
POULTRY
•
Completely fresh poultry should be washed inside and out with cold water, dried and placed on
a plate. Wrap them in cling film or aluminum foil.
•
Poultry pieces should also be stored in this manner. Whole poultry should never be stuffed until
the moment before it is cooked, otherwise the food will lose quality.
