1. Remove the cutting deck. Refer to
install the cutting deck on page 28 .
2. Look at the blades to see if they are damaged and if
it is necessary to sharpen them.
To replace the blades
1. Lock the blades with a wooden block.

2. Remove the nut (A), the washer (B), and the blade
(C).
Note:
The nut on the right side has a left-
hand screw thread. Turn the nut on the right side
clockwise to remove it.
3. Install a new left blade on the left side and a
new right blade on the right side. The left blade is
identified with "Left" and the right blade is identified
with "Right".
Note:
The nut on the right side has a left-
hand screw thread. Turn the nut on the right side
counterclockwise to install it.

4. Make sure that the bent ends on the blades point up.
5. Tighten the nuts to 200 Nm.
To replace the cutting deck belt
1. Remove the cutting deck. Refer to
install the cutting deck on page 28 .
2. Remove the dirt and grass around the bearing
housings, blade pulleys and from the top surface of
the cutting deck.
3. Remove the bolt (A), the washer (B) and the idler
pulley (C).
4. Remove the cutting deck belt (D) from the blade
pulleys on the cutting deck.
5. Install a new cutting deck belt in the opposite
sequence.
a) Make sure that the cutting deck belt is in the
correct position in all belt pulleys.

CAUTION:
The blades have
different direction of rotation. The right
blade must be installed on the right side
and the left blade must be installed on
the left side.
WARNING:
Incorrect blade type
can cause objects to eject from the
cutting deck and cause serious injury.

data on page 41 .
