Interface connections
Warning! Risk of personal injury or death
A risk of personal injury or death exists if Limit Enable inputs are not properly
connected. Limit Enable inputs are available on the Axis Motor connector and
the Limit Switch connector.
To avoid the hazard use only one pair of Limit Enable inputs per axis. Never use
the Limit Enable inputs from both connectors. If both are used, limit switch
function is severely impaired.
Notice
This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic
discharge (ESD). Observe precautions for handling ESD sensitive devices and
never touch connector pins unless properly grounded.
Notice
Do not overtighten interface cable connection screws to avoid damage to the
product.
Connecting an axis motor cable
This product provides interface connections for axis motor input/output. A label is provided
near each connector.
To connect an axis motor cable:
Verify that the power switch is in the off position

Tighten the cable connector screws until they are snug

Amplifier output to motor (+) winding

Negative terminal of brush tachometer

Signal ground, or positive terminal of brush tachometer

Limit
GND to enable output current in one polarity, open or DC 5 V
/Pos Enab
to inhibit. Typically used with grounded, normally closed limit
switches.

GND to enable output current in opposite polarity, open or DC 5 V
/Neg Enab
to inhibit. Typically used with grounded, normally closed limit
switches.
