9. When disconnecting the charger, pull the plug and never the cable.
10. Do not splice the power cord nor change the plug. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced at
an authorized service provider or by a qualified person in order to avoid risks. The customer holds
exclusive responsibility for costs related to exchanging the power cable.
11. Do not use the charger if it was dropped or if it is damaged in any way.
12. Do not disassemble the charger. Incorrect assembling may cause electric chock or fire.
13. In order to reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect the charger from the power supply before
performing any maintenance or cleaning.
14. Do not use an extension cord unless absolutely necessary. The use of an improper extension cord
may cause injuries and/or damages to the equipment. If necessary to use an extension cord, make
sure that:
• The extension cord outlet matches the charger plug.
• The extension cord is in good electric conditions and proper for use.
• The section of the wire is compatible with the rated current of the charger. Do not use a wire with a
section smaller than 0,75mm² and with improper insulation.
15. Always the charge the battery in a well ventilated area. Never use it in a closed or restricted area
without proper ventilation.
16. Avoid contact of the battery acid with the charger, since that may cause damages to the equipment.
17. Do not place the battery on top of the charger or in an unsafe place.
18. Never touch the contacts (poles) of the battery at the same time when the charger is energized.
19. Never start the motor when the charger is connected to the battery because that may damage the
charger.
20. Use full protection for the eyes and protective clothes when working with lead-acid batteries.
21. Abundant fresh water and soap must be available nearby for use in case of contact with the skin,
eyes or clothes. If there is contact of the battery acid with the skin or clothes, wash them immedia-
tely with soap and water.
22. Avoid touching the eyes while working with a battery. Acid (corrosive) particles may reach your eyes.
If there is contact of the acid with your eyes, immediately soak your eyes in cold running water for
at least ten minutes. Look for a doctor immediately.
23. Remove all personal metallic items, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches when working
with lead-acid batteries because they can produce a short circuit electric current strong enough to
melt a ring (or similar metal), causing serious burns.
24. Be careful not to drop a metal tool or any other metallic object on the battery. Metals can cause
sparks or short circuits in the battery or other electric devices. Sparks can cause an explosion.
25. Never smoke or allow sparks or flames near the battery or the motor, that may produce explosive
gases.
26. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Schulz authorized service provider or by a
qualified person in order to avoid risks.
