4.1.2 DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT AND TEST

DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT
The seeding table contains the instructions for suitably
distributing the seeds. The data that must be taken into
consideration for proceeding with the job are: size and type of
seed (small or normal size, e.g. wheat or colza), quantity in kg to
be distributed per hectare.
Size and type of seeds: adjust the distributor according to the
selected seed (see Table 2).
The distributed seed quantity per hectare is adjusted by the seed
distributor (Fig. 21) by moving the graduated slide valve accordingly
(F) with the screw staff (D). The positions of the distributor scale
correspond to the adjusting table values in the left column (the
distribution tables are shown in the Operation and Maintenance
manual of the Electrical Distribution Control).
DISTRIBUTOR TEST
Before carrying out the dosing test, make sure there are no
foreign bodies inside the hopper and the doser.
- Once the distributor has been adjusted, a test has to be carried
out to check the correct seed distribution, as the table values
are purely reference values, owing to the diversity often found in
size and specific weight of the seeds.
- Shut the slide valve sompletely with the seedhopper empty.
- Add a small seed quantity (approx. 40 kg) inside the hopper.
- Loosen the knobs (A, Fig. 26) and remove the sliding gates (B).
- Position the seed collecting trays under the seed discharge
outlets (C Fig. 26).
- To rotate the dosing devices, follow the instructions provided in
the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the Electrical
Distribution Control.
- To obtain the correct amount per hectare (kg/ha), multiply the
seed collected from the two dosing devices by 10.
- If the value obtained is smaller or greater than the desired
value, open or close the sliding gates of the dosers by a few
units and repeat the procedure.
ATTENTION
Caution: danger hazard for doser: Set a lower quantity of product
only when the doser is rotating or when the hopper is empty.
4.1.3 HALF MACHINE SEEDING EXCLUSION FUNCTION
The system for conveying the seeds to the dosing devices is
equipped with a mechanical system which enables the right
dosing device to be excluded from operation, and hence from
seeding operations (Fig. 27).
