Descaling agent
Use a commercially available descaling agent that is suitable for filter coffee machines.
Do not use regular or concentrated vinegar because this can damage the materials in the appli-
ance.
Using descalers based on citric acid can lead to the formation of precipitates that seal the
limescale layer or clog up the lines in the appliance. Descaling with citric acid also takes too long, as a
result of which complete descaling cannot be guaranteed.
Our warranty does not cover damage caused by using unsuitable descaling agents or failing to
comply with the descaling instructions.
Handle descaling agents carefully to prevent damaging furniture or clothing.
Descaling
▪ Insert a paper filter in the filter (3), close the filter lid (2), and place the jug (6) in the machine. Any
larger pieces of limescale residue may collect on the filter paper, thus preventing the outlet valve
from clogging.
▪ Add descaling agent to the water tank (4) as per the manufacturer's instructions, fill with tap water
up to the 5-cup mark and switch the appliance on.
▪ After the descaling solution has passed through, empty the jug (6), switch off the device and allow
to cool for 5 minutes.
Important: To rinse the tank (4) after descaling, open the tank cover (1), fill the tank with fresh tap
water up to the 5-cup mark and start the brewing procedure. Then rinse the filter (3) and jug (6)
under running water.
Note: In the event of heavy calcification, repeat the descaling process.
